Available is a stunning 85mm carving knife made from Brazilian purplehert
 
Blade: Handforged blade from Kay Embretsen in Sweden and is 85mm long. The blade is made with a carbon steel center, and mild steel on the sides. This makes the blade easy to maintain a sharp edge.
 
Handle: The handle is crafted from a stunning piece of Brazilian purpleheart. I dont normally use non native timbers but this and other exotic woods were gifted to me by a neighbour whose father used to make rocking horses and had been in is workshop for decades. To finish a contrasting black piece of 5000 year old bog oak from the Lincolnshire fens.
 
The bog oak has been dug up from the Lincolnshire fens. Radio carbon dating has shown these ancient giant oaks to be around 3300BC.
 
Leather: The knife is being sold with a handstitched leather blade slip or a sheath is available as an option or contact me for further sheath options.
