Available is a stunning 65mm carving knife made from Elm burr
Blade: Blade: O2 carbon steel. Hardness: 60hrc ±1. Blade length: 65mm. Blade thickness: 2,5mm
A hollow ground sloyd blade suitable for green and dry woodworking. There are two rail-shaped lines on the blade. When you sharpen on a flat surface, only these parts are ground. This makes sharpening work extremely easy for the user.
Handle: The handle is crafted from a stunning piece of Elm burr from Suffolk with bog oak trim
The bog oak has been dug up from the Lincolnshire fens and carefully air dried then kiln dried before being quarter sawn to give a beautifully contrasting pattern.
Radio carbon dating has shown these ancient giant oaks to be around 3300BC.
Leather: The knife is being sold with a handstitched leather blade slip or a sheath is available as an option or contact me for further sheath options.
